DIY Accents

It felt so good to use some time last Sunday to relax and start a new DIY. Our new console table was crying out for some accessorizing. Well twist my arm.....

I had seen variations of this project for recycling old bottles by painting them and thought it would be a great, inexpensive way to add something pretty to the apartment. Plus, we already had some empty wine bottles hanging around (heh) so I decided to give it a try. Adding the twine was an afterthought; the bottles on their own looked a little bare, and needed some texture. Since we also have some woven baskets on the bottom shelf, the twine really ties in nicely (no pun intended!). I really like the way they turned out!

Monday To-dos

{via How Sweet Eats}

Am I the only one at work today? Oh well, I have a good feeling about this week. There's lots to do but I also have a couple of fun nights to look forward to. Of all that will be accomplished this week, I'm most looking forward to...

Dress Like you Decorate

I once heard someone say that people should dress like they decorate. For me, this piece of advice really rings true. Recently, I went shopping with a friend who told me that if I reached for another oatmeal colored sweater she was going to scream. So I'm a girl who likes neutrals! So, sue me! Oatmeal colored sweaters are timeless! Right?

Well, timeless or not, the same logic applies to my decorating aesthetic: I tend to gravitate toward light, neutral palates-something about them just seems so fresh and clean-and then layer in some fun accessories or trendy pieces. I took a look at some of my Pinterest boards, and what do ya know- much of the same. Here are some rooms that bear a striking resemblance to a few choice items from my own wardrobe. Enjoy!

Ready, Set,....

Do you ever feel like you're most organized when you are the busiest? I know I do. I just had a super productive night, and it's been a suuuuuper busy week so far. But somehow, the packed schedule is more energizing than draining. When your free time is limited, you do everything you can to maximize it. So not only do you move seamlessly from one task to the next, you inadvertently free up more time for other tasks later. What a wonderfully vicious cycle!

Monday To-Dos

It's time to really get back to the grind this week. After being out of the office for close to three weeks (first for the holiday break and then down to Orlando for a firm-wide training session), I have a feeling it's going to be a very busy few days. Better get that To-Do list going before things get crazy! This week I need to...

Going Pro

Although I don't like to admit--oh, who am I kidding?-- I am a SUCKER for reality television. Just like most Americans, a good healthy dose of reality TV takes me from singin' the blues to thanking my lucky little stars that I don't live in McIntyre, Georgia [that's where Honey Boo Boo's from, y'all]. If I reallyyyy put my mind to it, I'm sure I could name a reality show on every TV network, but I digress...

Last night, the new season of The Bachelor aired on ABC. I only jumped onto the Bachelor bandwagon recently, but I couldn't help but notice "AshLee F.", a personal organizer from Houston, TX.....
